2014-15: Fernandez was named to the Academic All-MAC Team as a senior...selected UB Female Athlete of the Week on Feb. 23 after winning all four matches in which she played over the weekend...posted a 9-12 record at singles and a 13-10 showing in doubles play...played primarily third and fourth singles going 2-2 at third and 4-6 at fourth...teamed with Laura Holterbosch to post a 9-8 doubles record, highlighted by a 4-1 record in fall tournament play.
2013-14: Fernandez posted a 20-9 record in singles play...recorded a 9-1 mark between fourth and fifth singles...went 7-6 in doubles action...teamed with Marta Stoyanova for a 4-2 tournament doubles record...appeared in the finals of the "Green Flight" at the Brown Invitational and went 3-0 at the Niagara Invitational...also won a pair of matches at the Air Force Invitational...named an Academic All-MAC honorable mention.
2012-13: Finished her first year with the Blue and White going 11-9 in singles and 8-10 in doubles...spent time anywhere from third through sixth in the lineup, going 2-1 at fifth singles, all in conference play...went 3-1 at the Cornell Fall Invite early in the season...joined Marta Stoyanova in doubles action, playing at third doubles for most of the spring.
2011-12: Spent her freshman season at Louisiana Tech where she went 10-22 in singles, seeing most of her time at first singles despite it being her first season...compiled a 10-19 doubles mark...was 7-11 in duals and 3-8 during tournament action...competed mostly at the No. 3 spot with 6-10 record.
High School: Part of three Champions of Madrid teams...coached by Victor Recio, Jose Angel Cauipos and Jorge Truyoil.
Personal: Full name is Laura Hernandez Fernandez...has one sister, Sara Fernandez...father played professional soccer in Spain.
