2011-12: Appeared in 24 games and made three starts, averaging 9.3 minutes per game... averaged two points and 1.7 rebounds per game... had eight points and five rebounds against Dayton (11/25)... scored nine points and pulled down six rebounds against Farleigh Dickinson (11/27)... scored five points and collected six rebounds against Wright State in her first start of the season (11/30).
2010-11: Played in 20 games, including the last eight in a row...had a season-high four points against Bucknell (11/21), Akron (2/16) and Wright State (3/24)... finished with two points and four rebounds against Kent State (2/19)... also added two assists and two steals.
High School: Earned five letters and captained two seasons for head coach Don Scholla at Olean High School...helped her team to a 19-4 record as a senior as she averaged 20.0 points, 10.0 rebounds and 3.0 steals per game...named the 2010 Western New York Player of the Year...named second-team All-State in 2009 and league MVP in 2008-09...she was also a Big 30 All-Star First Team selection in 2008 and 2009...helped her team to the 2009 State Final Four and the Section VI Class B Overall Championship in 2008 and 2009...also won a state championship in swimming in the 200 yard Medley Relay...competed in track and field and softball at Olean High School as well.
Personal: Born July 8, 1992...daughter of Joseph and Jean Bantelman...has three sisters (Mary Anne, Ashley, Emily)...full named is Rachel Maureen Bantelman, but her friends just call her “Bomber”...favorite athlete is Michael Jordan and favorite musical artist is Journey...was also recruited by Niagara, Hofstra, Navy, Binghamton and Bucknell, but chose UB because of the coaching staff, the academic opportunities and the location...lists her strangest superstition as wearing the same exact outfit to each game...plans to major in exercise science with the goal of becoming a physical therapist.
