High School: Had his best times of the season at the Ohio State Winter Invite. Posted a 52.61 in the 100 backstroke, a 1:54.10 in the 200 backstroke and 2:02.81 in the 200 individual medley. Also posted a season-best time in the 100 butterfly at the Akron Invite (57.73).
High School: Earned six letters and captained two seasons at Amherst High School for coach Mike Giancarlo. Finished 11th overall at the 2012 New York State Championships in the 100 backstroke. A four-time ECIC and two-time Section VI champion in the 100 backstroke. Also won an ECIC 200 IM championship for the Tigers. Also member of Amherst’s tennis team earning ECIC all-star honors. Member of Tonawanda Titans club program for coach Scott Vanderzell, ranking among the nation’s top five in the medley relays in 2008 and 2010 and setting 12 club records and was a junior national qualifier.
Personal: Born March 25, 1994. son of James Glennon and Gail Hofmar. Has one sister (Hayley). Favorite athlete is Aaron Piersol. Favorite food is filet mignon. Lists Winnie the Pooh as his non-sports hero. Names Dolph Lundgren’s character Ivan Drago from Rocky IV as the celebrity people think he most looks like. Nickname is Stretch. Majoring in biomedical engineering.
