Bridgette Alexander begins her first season as assistant coach on the UB swimming and diving staff. Alexander comes to Buffalo after serving as a volunteer assistant coach at the University of Kentucky for the 2019-20 season.
Alexander comes to Buffalo after serving as a volunteer assistant coach at the University of Kentucky for the 2019-20 season where the Wildcats placed third at the Southeast Conference (SEC) Swimming and Diving Championships.
The former University of Kentucky swimmer will bring four years of Division I swimming experience to the Bulls’ staff. Alexander was a four-year letter winner at the University of Kentucky as she competed as a backstroke specialist. She served as a team captain for the Wildcats in 2017 and 2018. Alexander also competed at the SEC Championships all four years of her collegiate career.
Alexander is no stranger to the big stage as she competed at the national and international levels. She was a bronze medal winner in the 200-meter backstroke at the 2017 World University Games that was held in Taipei City, Taiwan. In 2016, she was a U.S. Olympic Trials finalist in the 200-meter backstroke.
The Milton, Wisc. native graduated from the University of Kentucky in 2018 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Exercise Science. Alexander was named to the SEC Honor Roll from 2015-18 where she also earned NCAA Scholar All-American honors. In 2019, she earned her Master’s of Education in Sport Leadership from Kentucky.
