2012-13: Went 6-5 in singles and 1-3 in doubles during the fall season, and ended the season with a 6-5 singles record and a 5-9 doubles mark... won the consolation round of the Nassau draw at the Princeton Invitational, taking two of his matches with third-set super-tiebreaker wins. Fell in the Red draw consolation final of the Penn Invitational in a third-set super-tiebreaker, finishing the tournament with a 2-2 singles record... teamed with Husa Hove and went 4-3 at doubles with that combination, including a perfect 2-0 in conference matches.
2011-12: Won the Bulls Spirit Award for the second straight season. Finished 7-10 in singles and 9-8 in doubles and was 2-2 in Mid-American Conference singles play, primarily from the number six slot. He also combined with Alex Kalinin to form UB’s number three doubles tandem which went 7-6 (3-2 MAC). Posted singles record of 3-2 and doubles mark of 2-2 during the fall. Went 1-1 in F singles and C doubles flights at the UB Invitational, scoring an 11-9 super-tiebreaker singles victory over his St. Bonaventure opponent.
2010-11: Earned the Bulls Spirit Award for his constant encouragement of his teammates during the season. Appeared in three singles matches during the spring. Won a double-bagel victory over Chicago State’s Dave Regus in UB’s 5-0 shutout of the Cougars. Paired with Kristof Custers for a 5-1 fall doubles record, winning the B flight consolation crown at the Cornell Invitational. Reached the B flight singles consolation final at the Cornell Invitational.
High School: Earned three letters and captained two seasons at Florida’s Bradenton Preparatory Academy for coach Ellis Ferreira. Ranked in the top 25 in state of Florida. Helped team to state championship, earning all-area and all-conference honors. Also was a three-year starter at defensive end for the Patriots’ state and national championship football team with 19.5 sacks and second-team all-area honors. Batted .310 as a a catcher and center fielder on the baseball team.
Personal: Born September 1, 1992. Son of Stan and Maya Shkodnik. Has one sister (Elizabeth). Favorite athlete is Gael Monfils. Favorite food is hot wings. Majoring in exercise science.
