High School: Three-year letterwinner and served as captain for one year at Solon for head coach Charles Chokenea… in his senior year was named to the first-team All-Conference and first-team All-Sun News… won the team best hitter award in his senior year… played running back and linebacker as a two-year letterwinner.
Personal: Full name is Zachary Alan Papesh… born November 6, 1989... son of Joseph and Heidi... has a brother, Daniel and a sister, Claudia... hobbies/interests are being with friends and playing video games… also recruited by Ashland, Mercyhurst, Miami (OH) and Kent State… greatest athletic experience is hitting a walk-off grand slam in his junior year of high school… chose UB to play Division I baseball and reputation of the UB School of Business… Superstition is to always put on his left shoe first… goal is to break the UB record for most hits in a season... majoring in business.
