BUFFALO, NY – University at Buffalo Men's Tennis Associate Head Coach Tony Miller was named the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Assistant Coach of the Year for the New England Region, the ITA announced on Tuesday.
Just concluding his ninth season on Head Coach Lee Nickell's staff, Miller helped lead Buffalo to a historic season in 2025-26 as they recorded a 16-7 overall record and 8-2 mark in league play. The Bulls captured both the regular season and tournament championship titles for the second straight year, accomplishing that feat for the first time in program history.
The top-seeded Bulls defeated Ball State in the semifinals before taking down Northern Illinois in the championship match to earn the title and an NCAA Tournament berth.
Miller is a 2017 graduate of UB with a degree in communication. He had a standout career on the courts for the Bulls, leading Buffalo to MAC Championships in 2015 and 2017 before embarking on his coaching career.
