
Maines Reaches Milestone in Bulls Victory at Cleveland State

BUFFALO, NY – The University at Buffalo women's tennis team swept Cleveland State 7-0 on Friday afternoon. It was a milestone day for head coach Kristen Maines as she recorded her 200th career win.
The Bulls got off to a great start as Esmee Andresen and Maria Glowacka won 6-3 at first doubles and Julia Laspro and Sarah Hartel picked up a 6-2 win at the third position to secure the doubles point for UB and give the Bulls a 1-0 lead in the match.
Andresen continued her strong play in singles action as she won 6-3, 6-1 at first singles and Glowacka followed with a 6-2, 6-4 victory at the third position before Hartel clinched the match for UB with a 6-4, 6-2 win at fourth singles. Liv Roestel battled to a 7-6, 6-3 win at fifth singles, Laspro overcame a dropped second set to win 6-4, 4-6, 10-8 at second singles and Blanca Berges rounded out the scoring with a three-set victory of her own, 2-6, 6-4, 6-1, at six singles.
Buffalo returns to action on Saturday as they host Cornell at Miller Tennis Center at 1:30pm.
