Bulls Set To Send Five Divers to NCAA Zone Diving Championships

BUFFALO, NY – The University at Buffalo swimming and diving program is sending five divers to the NCAA Zone Diving Championships in Piscataway, New Jersey to compete for a chance to qualify for the NCAA Diving Championships. The three-day competition takes place Monday, March 10th through Wednesday, March 12th.
The Bulls are competing in Zone A, representing one of the six regional diving meets where athletes compete throughout the week. The three-day schedule and number of qualifying spots in Zone A for the NCAA Championships is listed below.
2025 NCAA Zone A Diving Championships
Three-time MAC Diver of the Year Marialis Kwak qualified for all three events. Kwak enters Zone Diving Championships after defending her MAC title in both the one-meter (312.00) and three-meter (329.25). The senior broke the Bulls' three-meter school record at the UB Diving Invite with a score of 363.05. Kwak qualified for Zone Diving Championships in one-meter diving (306.38) and three-meter diving (300.15) in the Bulls' first meet of the season. The senior qualified for platform diving at the UB Diving Invite with a score of 236.50. Kwak has qualified for the NCAA Championships in both the one-meter and three-meter for two consecutive seasons, looking to make it three.
Presley Dorsett qualified for both the one-meter and three-meter events. Dorsett enters Zone Diving Championships after earning her second career medal at MAC Championships with a second-place finish in the three-meter (281.20). The junior ranks eighth all-time in program history in the three-meter (310.90) and fifth all-time in the one-meter (299.60).
Sophie Meuwissen is set to compete in both the one-meter and three-meter events. The sophomore brought home her first MAC medal at conference championships last week, finishing third in the three-meter with a score of 269.05. Meuwissen also finished sixth in the one-meter finals with a score of 240.55 at MAC Championships.
Mallory Hanna is the final Buffalo diver to qualify for both the one-meter and three-meter. The junior finished third in the one-meter finals at conference championships with a score of 256.90. Hanna ranks ninth in program history for the one-meter with a personal record score of 280.60.
Kaylee Donovan rounds out the Buffalo divers who are headed to the Zone Diving Championships, with the senior qualifying for the three-meter event. Donovan placed sixth in the three-meter finals at MAC Championships with a score of 256.65 and third in the preliminary round with a score of 262.85. The senior ranks ninth in program history in the three-meter with a personal record performance of 300.40, set this year at the UB Diving Invite.
