Bulls Close Out 2024-25 Season at National Invitational Championship

OCALA, Fla. – The University at Buffalo swimming and diving program sent eight swimmers to the CSCAA National Invitational Championship in Ocala, Florida. The Bulls closed out the season by finishing 14th of the 57 teams in attendance with 711.6 points.
DAY ONE
The Bulls 400-yard medley relay team highlighted day one of competition. Mia Naccarella, Grace Rider, Nicole Aguilar and Isabella Forsman finished third of 28 teams in the event. The relay time of 3:38.69 joined the all-time ranks to take eighth in program history.
The Bulls also had a strong showing in the 200-yard freestyle relay, placing 10th of 34 programs. Naccarella, Aguilar, Forsman and Vivian Roy finished the relay with a time of 1:32.92. The time was just over two seconds shy of reaching the all-time program leaderboard (1:30.64).
Naccarella won the consolation finals heat of the 50-yard backstroke with a time of 25.26. The fifth year finished 11th in the preliminary round with a time of 25.56, missing the finals cut by just over a tenth of a second (25.52). Roy also competed in the preliminary round, finishing 34th with a time of 26.19.
Forsman placed 25th of 55 swimmers in the 200-yard individual medley with a time of 2:03.57. The freshman was just over two seconds shy of her personal record that ranks sixth in program history (2:01.15).
DAY TWO
Naccarella continued her momentum on day two, taking second place in the 200-yard freestyle with a time of 1:47.33. The fifth-year's time was under two-tenths of a second shy of her personal record that ranks fifth in program history (1:47.14). In the preliminary round, Naccarella placed second among 38 swimmers with a time of 1:48.02.
Forsman placed fifth in the consolation finals of the 400-yard individual medley and 15th overall in a field of 54 swimmers with a time of 4:18.73. The freshman was just over two seconds shy of her personal record that ranks sixth in program history (4:16.70). Forsman finished 16th to qualify for the consolation finals with a time of 4:20.92. Elise McCaul also competed for the Bulls, finishing 26th with a time of 4:25.98.
The Bulls finished 11th of 34 teams in the 200-yard medley relay. Naccarella, Rider, Aguilar and Roy combined to finish the event in 1:40.97, falling just shy of the program's all-time top ten (1:40.08).
Aguilar placed 21st of 49 swimmers in the preliminary round of the 100-yard butterfly with a time of 55.24, missing the consolation finals cut by one one-hundredth of a second (55.23). The junior was less than two seconds shy of her personal record that ranks fourth in program history (53.63).
Rider finished 29th of 53 swimmers in the preliminary round of the 100-yard breaststroke with a time of 1:03.11. The sophomore missed the finals cut by less than a second (1:02.38).
Roy placed 33rd of 55 swimmers in the preliminary round of the 100-yard backstroke with a time of 55.78. The sophomore missed the finals cut by less than a second (55.11).
DAY THREE
The Bulls continued their momentum in relay events, taking 10th of 34 teams in the 400-yard freestyle relay. Aguilar, Naccarella, Forsman and Roy combined to finish with a time of 3:22.34.
Forsman competed in the 100-yard individual medley to begin day three for the Bulls, finishing 23rd in the field of 46 with a time of 57.11. The freshman's time was her fastest in the event this season. Forsman missed the finals cut by nearly two-tenths of a second (56.89). Aguilar also competed for the Bulls, finishing 24th with a new personal record time in the event of 57.20.
Naccarella competed in the 100-yard freestyle preliminary round, placing 24th with a time of 50.76. The fifth-year missed the finals cut by nearly a tenth of a second (50.64) and was nearly a second shy of her personal record in the event that ranks sixth in program history (49.58).
