Bulls Make It A Clean Sweep With Wins Over Skidmore, Rochester

BUFFALO, NY – The University at Buffalo women's tennis team concluded the weekend with a pair of wins as they swept Skidmore and the University of Rochester, 7-0 on Saturday at Miller Tennis Center.
In the first match of the day against Niagara, the Bulls earned the first point of the match as Esmee Andresen and Maria Glowacka cruised to a 6-0 win at first doubles and Liv Roestel and Blanca Berges followed with a 6-0 victory of their own at the third position.
Buffalo then swept all six singles matches in straight sets as Glowacka won 6-3, 6-3 at first singles, Jagmeet Kaur won 6-2, 6-3 at second singles and Berges also won 6-2, 6-3 at the third position. Sophomore Julia Laspro cruised to a 6-0, 6-2 win at fourth singles, Roestel earned a double-bagel victory at the fifth position and Marta Giglio capped the afternoon with a 6-3, 6-2 win at sixth singles.
In the night match against U of R, the Bulls started strong once again as Kaur and Giglio won 6-1 at second doubles and Roestel and Berges won 6-0 at the third position to clinch the doubles point.
The Bulls rolled through singles action once again as Glowack won 6-2, 6-1 at first singles, Berges won 6-1, 6-1 at second and Laspro rolled 6-0, 6-1 at the third position. Roestel and Giglio both won 6-1, 6-2 at the fourth and fifth positions and Deanne Choo blanked her opponent 6-0, 6-0 at sixth singles.
Up next, the Bulls will remain home for a pair of matches as they host St. Bonaventure on Friday, February 14 before welcoming Oakland to town on Saturday, February 15. Both matches will be held at the Miller Tennis Center at 12:30pm.
