Bulls Drop Dual at Northern Illinois

DEKALB, IL – The University at Buffalo wrestling team had their two-dual win streak snapped at Northern Illinois, falling to the Huskies, 28-8, on Friday night.
The Bulls dropped close duals early, setting the tone for the dual.
Starting at 174, Rafael Knapp wrestled well until he gave up a late takedown to drop a 5-4 decision to Tommy Bennett.
Marcus Petite gave the Bulls a brief lead with a dominant, 21-2, technical fall in the 184 match. It was Petite's ninth straight win.
Lonnell Pabon gave up and a late takedown to drop a 4-1 decision at 197 and Robbie Unruh dropped a 4-1 sudden victory in the next match and the Bulls trailed 9-5.
The Huskies won the next five matches to pull away.
Hunter Shaut earned a hard-fought 4-2 overtime victory over Brett Smith to finish the dual with a victory.
Buffalo is back home on Sunday afternoon when the host Central Michigan at noon.
