CLEVELAND, OHIO – The Mid-American Conference announced on Tuesday afternoon that Bella Forsman of the University at Buffalo swimming and diving program was named the MAC Female Swimmer of the Week.
Forsman helped the Bulls to defeat the Toledo Rockets, 179-121, posting three individual event wins and helping the Bulls to a relay win. The sophomore won the 100-yard butterfly (56.61), the 200-yard butterfly (2:06.22) and the 200-yard individual medley (2:05.92). The sophomore was also the Bulls' anchor swimmer on the 200-yard medley relay winning team (1:45.28).
Tuesday marked the first time that Forsman was named the MAC Swimmer of the Week. The sophomore becomes the 17th swimmer in program history to earn the weekly award.
Forsman's accomplishment also marks the second consecutive week that the Bulls received an award from the conference. Freshman Adele Melamud was named the MAC Female Diver of the Week just a week ago.
The Bulls are back in action on Friday, November 21st, in the Alumni Arena Natatorium, hosting the UB Invite. Action in the pool is scheduled to begin at 5 p.m. A complete schedule for UB Swimming and Diving can be accessed here.
