Dolac Named MAC Scholar Athlete of the Week

BUFFALO, NY – Two days after being named Mid-American Conference Defensive Player of the Week, University at Buffalo linebacker Shaun Dolac was named the MAC Scholar Athlete of the Week, the league announced on Wednesday.
Dolac had one of the greatest games in program history, finishing with a career-high 19 tackles, 4.5 tackles for loss and a game-changing interception in UB's 23-20 overtime victory over #23 Northern Illinois. The Western New York native is the anchor of a UB defense that leads the MAC and ranks fourth in the nation in tackles for loss. Individually, he ranks first in the nation in tackles (62) and tackles for loss (9.5).
A graduate student studying communication, Dolac has a 3.49 grade point average.
The MAC Scholar-Athlete of the Week honor is presented to a MAC male and female student-athlete who has a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or better and performs well during that week's competition. Each week schools are asked to nominate one female and one male among the sports that are in season at the time. The winners are selected by a group of the conference's faculty athletic representatives.
Dolac and the Bulls will be back in action on Saturday when they play at Connecticut.
