Men’s Basketball Announces Coaching Addition and Changes

BUFFALO, N.Y. – University at Buffalo men's basketball Head Coach George Halcovage III announced the hiring of Kevin Voigt to the coaching staff on Thursday afternoon. He will serve as an Assistant Coach/Director of Basketball Operations for the Bulls. The team also announced that Assistant Coach/Player Development Calvin Cage has joined the staff at Hampton University as an Assistant Coach.
"Calvin Cage moved on to become an assistant coach at Hampton University," stated Head Coach George Halcovage III. "I will be forever grateful that Calvin was on my first staff here at UB. Calvin is a great former UB player who has accomplished everything we want our players to be in both their basketball career and in life after basketball. This move allows Calvin to be closer to his family in the greater D.C. area. We're going to miss him but are equally as excited for him. We love you Cal, Forever a Bull!"
Tim Saunders and Jack Fitzpatrick have been elevated in their roles with Cage departing.
"Tim and Jack are both talented coaches that have been instrumental in us building our culture here at UB!" added Halcovage. "They both have earned the respect of our entire staff and are ready to take on their new roles!"
Voigt comes to Buffalo from Villanova where he was a graduate assistant over the last two seasons following his playing career with the Wildcats' from 2019-22 where he earned his B.S. in Biology. He is currently finishing his MBA and will graduate later this month.
