Bulls Close Out Two-Day Meet at Marshall

Huntington, W. Va. – The University at Buffalo women's swimming & diving team closed out their two-day competition at Marshall on Saturday morning. The Thundering Herd defeated the Bulls, 226-140.
THE POOL
After two event wins on day one at Marshall, Mia Naccarella took another event on day two, this time winning the 100-yard freestyle with a time of 52.74. Jillian Strine took third in the freestyle event to add another three points for the Bulls with a time of 53.67, just a tenth of a second shy of her season-best time in the event (53.57).
Naccarella took second place in the 100-yard backstroke with a time of 56.82 to earn four more points for the Bulls. Vivian Roy took fifth in the event with a season-best time of 59.25.
Grace Rider and Ava Pauly added four points for the Bulls in the 100-yard breaststroke. Rider took third with a time of 1:07.02 as Pauly trailed to take fifth with a time of 1:08.84.
Isabella Forsman and Nicole Aguilar combined to add 11 points for the Bulls between two events, the 200-yard butterfly and the 200-yard individual medley. Forsman continued her freshman campaign with a second-place finish in the 200-yard butterfly. The freshman's time of 2:06.11 was less than a tenth of a second shy of Marshall's first-place finisher (2:06.04). Aguilar added a point for the Bulls by taking fifth with a time of 2:09.57. Both Forsman and Aguilar recorded season-best times.
Forsman also took second in the 200-yard individual medley with a time of 2:07.00, trailing the first-place finisher by less than a second (2:06.37). Aguilar took fourth to add two more points for Buffalo, with a time of 2:10.87.
Elise McCaul took third in her season debut of the 500-yard freestyle with a time of 5:09.94, adding three points for the Bulls. Ava Cunningham earned a point for Buffalo with a time of 5:15.73 in sixth.
The Bulls opened and closed day two of the meet with second-place finishes in the team relay events. Buffalo's time of 1:44.77 in the 200-yard medley relay trailed Marshall's first-place finish by just three tenths of a second. The Thundering Herd took the 400-yard freestyle relay to close out day two, beating the Bulls time of 3:31.76 by just over a second (3:30.44).
THE DIVING WELL
The Bulls dominated the diving well at Marshall, taking five of the top six spots in both the one-meter and three-meter diving events.
Marialis Kwak won both diving events. The senior took the one-meter with a score of 299.10 and three-meter with a score of 291.60. Kwak has now won all six individual diving events the Bulls have competed in this season, earning two MAC Diver of the Week awards so far.
Mallory Hanna took second to Kwak in the three-meter with a new personal best performance of 280.80. Presley Dorsett finished fourth (258.60), with Maggie Meyers in fifth (248.18) and freshman Daphne Fox in sixth (220.88).
Dorsett took second in the one-meter with a score of 261.83. Kaylee Donovan (4th, 253.13), Hanna (5th, 239.40) and Meyers (6th, 228.90) followed. Fox placed eighth with a score of 211.28.
