
Women’s Tennis Signs Sofia Zagumennova

BUFFALO, NY – University at Buffalo women's tennis head coach Kristen Maines has announced the signing of Sofia Zagumennova to the roster for the 2025-26 season.
A native of Kemerovo, Russia, Zagumennova comes to Buffalo with stellar results at both the national and international level. Ranked as high as #11 in Russia in her age group, she has won three J30 ITF tournaments and made one J30 finals appearance. Additionally, she won the Siberian Federal District championship, the All-Russian Tournament in Khanty-Mansiysk and the Ural Federal District championship while also reaching the quarterfinals of the Russian Championship. Zagumennova is currently ranked #46 in the Russian Tennis Federation.
