Bulls Travel to Richmond for Final Road Non-Conference Game

BUFFALO, N.Y. – The University at Buffalo men's basketball program (1-9, 0-0 MAC) will travel to the state for Virginia for the second time this season to battle the Richmond Spiders (6-5, 0-0 A-10) on Thursday evening at 7 p.m. Josh Whetzel will be on the call over the airwaves on Buffalo 1520/Rochester 1280 and on the Varsity Network app.
LAST TIME OUT
The Bulls are coming off an 80-65 loss to the Western Kentucky Hilltoppers on Saturday, Dec. 9. Sy Chatman picked up his third double-double of the season after a 21-point, 11-rebound performance. His 21 points marked his UB career high. Anquan Boldin Jr. scored a career-high 19 points finishing 3-for-5 from three-point range, which also marked a career high. Ryan Sabol scored 12 points and added a career-high seven assists.
Lloyd McVeigh snatched a career-high nine rebounds off the bench playing a total of 28 minutes. McVeigh had a career-high four assists in the game.
ABOUT THE SERIES
This will be the first ever meeting between the Bulls and Spiders. Buffalo also faced South Alabama and Butler for the first time this season.
THE BULL-ETIN BOARD
Sy Chatman has scored in double figures in every game for the Bulls this season. His 16.3 ppg is good for sixth in the MAC. Chatman has also added 6.9 rebounds per game which is sixth in the MAC.
Jonnivius Smith leads the team with 8.8 rebounds per game, which ranks third in the MAC and 56th in the NCAA.
Maryland & Missouri State transfer James Graham is expected to make his Bulls debut after the recent NCAA ruling.
Freshman Ryan Sabol leads the team with 17 made three-pointers on the season. He has made at least one three in nine of the first 10 games of the season.
Only Shawn Fulcher and Sy Chatman have started in every game this season.
Shawn Fulcher and Anquan Boldin Jr. lead the team with 1.80 and 1.50 steals per game, respectively.
Sy Chatman and Jonnivius Smith are the only duo in the MAC to each have at least three double-doubles.
