
Bulls Conclude Fall Season with UB Indoor Invite

BUFFALO, NY – The University at Buffalo women's tennis team hosted the UB Indoor Invite this past weekend, welcoming competitors from St. John's, Delaware, Syracuse, and Niagara. The weekend was played in a hidden dual format with UB playing different teams each day.
On Friday, the Bulls faced off against St. John's where the Red Storm took the doubles point with wins at first and third doubles. Jagmeet Kaur and Lolina Schietekat Sedas won 6-3 at third doubles. Esmee Andresen picked up a 6-4, 6-3 win in singles play while Laura Koralnik and Kaur fought hard in a pair of three-set contests.
On Saturday, Buffalo played a combination of players from Syracuse and Niagara where Deanne Choo and Mariana Carvajal Torres picked up a 6-2 win at third doubles and Koralnik and Azra Deniz Comlek won their match 6-3. UB then took two points in singles action as Comlek defeated Syracuse's Anastasia Sysoeva in a three-set thriller 3-6, 6-2, 10-6. Koralnik cruised to a 6-1, 6-0 win over Niagara's Coral Rodriguez while Choo and Schietekat Sedas picked up straight set victories of their own against the Purple Eagles.
On Sunday, Buffalo faced off against Delaware where Amat and Andresen earned a phenomenal 6-3 win and Choo and Carvajal Torres picked up a hard-fought 7-5 victory. The Bulls continued that momentum in singles action as Koralnik rallied from an early deficit to win 6-4, 6-0. Comlek hung tough for a 6-4, 7-6(8) victory and Andresen battled back for a 6-4, 4-6, 10-6 win.
The Bulls will resume competition when their spring season begins in late January.
