
Track & Field Earns USTFCCCA Academic Honors

BUFFALO, NY - The University at Buffalo track and field team earned United States Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) All-Academic honors, the organization announced. Both the men's and women's teams were honored by the USTFCCCA.
The men's track and field team achieved a 3.415 GPA which ranked 29th nationally, the highest in program history. The women's squad achieved a collective GPA of 3.363.
Additionally, three Bulls earned Individual All-Academic honors. Brandon Burke (Aerospace and Mechanical Engineering double major, 3.829 GPA), Caleb Nickens (Civil Engineering, 3.572 GPA) and Molly McCreedy (Master of Art in History, 4.0 GPA) all earned the honor for the second straight year.
Eligibility requirements for the team award is a minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA on a 4.0 scale for all student-athletes on the institution's NCAA Squad List for Indoor and/or Outdoor Track and Field for the 2021-22 academic year, including the most recent grading period.
The list of USTFCCCA All-Academic Athletes is determined by both academic and athletic achievement during the track and field season. To qualify, the student-athletes must have compiled a cumulative GPA of 3.25 or higher and have met at least one of the following athletic standards: for the indoor season, a student-athlete must have finished the regular season ranked in the national top 96 of an individual event or as a member of a relay that was ranked in the top 48 on the official NCAA POP list; for the outdoor season, a student-athlete must have participated in any round of the NCAA Division I Championships.
