BUFFALO, N.Y. - The University at Buffalo cross country and track & field team announced the signings of Lacey Danilovitz and Kara Moran on Monday morning. The program is excited about these national letters of intent as both Danilovitz and Moran will be competing for the Bulls track & field squad and Danilovitz will be competing for the Bulls cross country squad starting in the 2023-24 campaign.
Danilovitz, from Riverside High School (Moosic, PA) is a very young and exciting distance runner. Fresh off her 5th place finish at the PA XC State Championships, Danilovitz has a very bright future. Her multi-sport background is an asset in both her physical strength and mental toughness. "Lacey's passion and drive combined with her athletic ability and outstanding academics makes her the ideal addition to our women's team," stated Head Coach and Director of Track and Field/Cross Country Vicki Mitchell. Danilovitz will be majoring in Exercise Science/Physical Therapy.
Moran, from Stillwater High School, specializes in the Long Jump and Triple Jump. As a high school junior, Moran placed 3rd in the Long Jump and 10th in the Triple Jump at the 2022 NYS Outdoor Championships. Assistant Coach Dan Johnson is very excited to bring her into the Bulls' program, saying, "Kara is one of the most talented and dynamic jumpers in the state. She has a great understanding of the horizontal events and will help improve a women's triple jump squad that was #7 in the nation last year. Kara will come to Buffalo as an outstanding high school athlete with a great opportunity to have a distinguished career as a Bull." Moran plans to major in Nutrition.
Mitchell said, "Lacey and Kara's signing is very exciting for our program. Our coaches are continuing to recruit strong developing talent that will continue to build our program."
