BUFFALO, NY – Three former University at Buffalo football standouts signed NFL free agent contracts at the conclusion of the NFL Draft on Saturday. Running back Jaret Patterson signed with Washington Football Team, offensive lineman Kayode Awosika signed with the Philadelphia Eagles and wide receiver Antonio Nunn signed with the Atlanta Falcons.
Patterson is arguably the best running back in program history. He rushed for 3,884 yards and 52 touchdowns in 33 career games. He was a three-time All-MAC selection, the 2020 MAC Offensive Player of the Year, the 2020 Vern Smith Leadership Award winner - given to the top overall player in the MAC and was named an All-American by five different organizations.
Awosika started 32 games at tackle. A two-time team captain, he was an All-MAC selection in 2019 and 2020 and was named a second-team All-American by the Football Writers Association of American (FWAA) this past season. Awosika anchored an offensive line that was a semifinalist for the Joe Moore Award, given annually to the best offensive line in the country, each of the last two seasons.
Nunn was the Bulls' top target over the past two seasons. He finished his career with 113 catches, 1,718 yards and 10 touchdowns. He earned All-MAC honors in 2019 and 2020.
The signings come on the heels of defensive end Malcolm Koonce being picked in the third round of the NFL Draft by the Las Vegas Raiders on Friday night.
