BUFFALO, NY - The University at Buffalo men's basketball team heads to the Bluegrass State for the first time since 2014 as the Bulls will face Western Kentucky on Wednesday night. This will be the first ever meeting between the Bulls and Hilltoppers and Buffalo's first game in Kentucky, since facing the top-ranked Wildcats on Nov. 16, 2014.
Both Buffalo and Western Kentucky competed in the NIT last season and both teams played in their respective conference championship games, with WKU facing North Texas, who Buffalo played last month. UB and WKU are two of just 18 teams to play in their last three conference championship games.
The Bulls are coming off a three-point loss at St. Bonaventure where UB erased an 11-point deficit with just three minutes left. Senior Jeenathan Williams led all scorers with 23 points. He enters the game with 1,060 points just five away from 18th place on the all-time scoring list.
Western Kentucky is riding a four-game winning streak and is undefeated at home this season. The Hilltoppers most recently defeated Eastern Kentucky on Saturday night.
Former UB Bull and Blue Collar U TBT member Lamonte Bearden concluded his career at Western Kentucky.
