BUFFALO, NY - The University at Buffalo men's basketball team will play its 10th game in the arena downtown since it opened in 1996 when the Bulls face Canisius in the third game of a tripleheader on Saturday. Other games involve Daemen vs. Franklin Pierce and Niagara vs. Albany.
The Bulls are looking for their third straight victory coming off a 77-67 road win at Western Kentucky and a 100-58 win against St. John Fisher last Saturday. Five Bulls scored in double figures in the win over the Cardinals.
Canisius is 2-9 on the season and has lost five in a row, including a road loss at Youngstown State on Saturday. This will be the fifth time that Buffalo and Canisius meet at the KeyBank Center with the Griffs winning three of the first four.
Overall, the Bulls have won three straight in the series and five of the last six. It will be exactly two years to the date since the last time UB and Canisius met, an 82-73 Buffalo victory on Dec. 18, 2019. Ronaldo Segu had 14 points in that meeting and Jeenathan Williams added 12. LaQuill Hardnett had nine points and 11 rebounds.
Following Saturday's game, UB has just one non-conference game left a home contest against UC-Irvine.
