
Bulls Host North Dakota State on Saturday in Search of Fourth Straight Win

BUFFALO, NY – After winning three straight road duals, the University at Buffalo wrestling team is back home on Saturday night in search of a fourth straight win. The Bulls host North Dakota State at Alumni Arena at 7 pm.
The Bulls are coming off a sweep of Edinboro and Gannon last Friday. Derek Spann continues his dominance of late, winning three straight matches via tech fall. Ranked 23rd in the nation, Spann has nine four-point nearfalls on the season to bring his career total to 40, second most in program history.
After slow starts to the season, Giuseppe Hoose (174) and Sam Mitchell (197) have both won each of their last two matches. Ty Raines (157) also had an impressive win against MAC-foe Edinboro with a third-period pin.
North Dakota State enters the weekend 2-1 and will wrestle Edinboro and host Binghamton on Friday night before traveling to Western New York. The Bison has four wrestlers in the national rankings. Jared Frankek (157) is 9th, Luke Weber (165) is 12th, Owen Pentz (197) is 17th and Brandon Metz (285) is 20th.
This is the second meeting between the teams. The Bulls won the only other meeting, 25-15, in 2005.
