BUFFALO, NY - The University at Buffalo men's basketball team will officially open up its 105th season on Wednesday night as the Bulls head to Ann Arbor, MI to take on the defending Big Ten champs and #6 Michigan. Tip off from the Crisler Center will be at 6:30 pm and the game will air nationally on the Big Ten Network.
Buffalo is coming off a 105-54 victory in its lone exhibition game against Medaille. 14 different Bulls scored in that game, including a game-high 19 points each from Josh Mballa and Jeenathan Williams. The Bulls are building off a season where UB went 16-9, reaching the finals of the Mid-American Conference Tournament and earning an at large bid into the National Invitation Tournament.
Michigan went 23-5 last season and 14-3 in the Big Ten, winning the conference title. The Wolverines, who advanced to the Elite Eight last year, will unveil their Big Ten championship banner prior to Wednesday night's game. Michigan won its lone exhibition on Friday night against Wayne State, 87-54.
Buffalo is 5-24 all-time against schools from the Big Ten. This is UB's first Big Ten game since the 2014-15 season when the Bulls faced a Wisconsin team that went to the Final Four.
Following Wednesday night, the Bulls remain on the road to face North Texas on Monday.
