
Track & Field Earns All-Academic Accolades from the USTFCCCA

New Orleans, La. - The U.S. Track & Field Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) announced the 2019 Division I All-Academic Track & Field teams with a total of 463 men's and women's teams earning the distinction, including both University at Buffalo squads, as a result of earning a cumulative team GPA of 3.00 or higher.
The UB women's team posted a team grade point average of 3.450, while the men's team posted a mark of 3.202.
The Mid-American Conference was once again well represented with 10 women's teams honored, while four MAC men's teams were recognized. Buffalo was one of six MAC schools to have both is men's and women's teams honored, joining Akron, Central Michigan, Eastern Michigan, Kent State and Miami (OH).
Individually, graduate student Selina Von Jackowski earned USTFCCCA All-Academic honors for the third time while sophomore Molly McCreedy the honor for the first time in her career. Von Jackowski, who competed in the 60-meter hurdles, graduated in May with a masters in finance and a 3.806 GPA. McCreedy competed in the shot put and currently holds a 3.932 GPA while majoring in history.
To be named to the All-Academic Team, student-athletes must have posted a minimum 3.25 grade point average and either finished the indoor regular season ranked in the national top 96 in any championship individual event or in the top 48 in any championship relay event.
