Otwinowski Named to Hampshire Honor Society

IRVING, TX – Former University at Buffalo linebacker Matt Otwinowski has been named to the National Football Foundation Hampshire Honor Society – comprised of college football players who maintained a cumulative 3.2 or better grade point average throughout their college career. It is the ninth straight year a UB player has made the list.

An accounting major with a 3.89 grade point average, Otwinowski enjoyed his best season on the field for the Bulls in 2019. The team captain ranked second on the squad in tackles with 76, including 3.5 tackles for loss, an interception and a forced fumble.

Otwinowski is a three-time Academic All-MAC selection and was a MAC Distinguish Scholar Athlete in 2018. In 2019 he was an Academic All-District selection.

An impressive 1,432 players from 364 schools qualified for membership in the Society's 14th year. The initiative has now honored 12,127 student-athletes since its inception.
