Leon Atkins Named MAC Athlete of the Week

CLEVELAND, Ohio – The Mid-American Conference announced Tuesday afternoon that senior Leon Atkins has been named the MAC Men's Track and Field Athlete of the Week.
Leon Atkins broke his own school record in the 600-meter dash with a time of 1:18.49 and placed third overall in the very competitive field at the Penn State National Open. His time ranks 14th in the entire NCAA and 13th in Division I.
This marks Atkins' first MAC Athlete of the Week honor of the season.
Buffalo returns back to action on Friday, Feb. 7 as the team will travel to Akron, Ohio for the Akron Invite hosted by the University of Akron. The meet is set to start at 6 p.m.
