Shevaughn Allen Named MAC Athlete of the Week

CLEVELAND, Ohio – The Mid-American Conference announced Tuesday afternoon that sophomore Shevaughn Allen has been named the MAC Men's Track and Field Athlete of the Week.

Shevaughn Allen won the triple and long jump at the Doug Raymond National Qualifier hosted Kent State University. Allen established a new school record as he broke his own triple jump record with a distance of 16.09m/52-09.50. He remains undefeated on the season in the event. This distance ranks first in the MAC and eighth in the NCAA. He also went on to a first place finish in the long jump with a personal-best mark of 7.35m/24-01.50, ranking seventh in the conference while earning a MAC automatic qualifying mark.

This marks Allen's second MAC Athlete of the Week honor this season.

Buffalo returns back to action on Friday as they will travel to Akron, Ohio for the Zips Invite hosted by the University of Akron. The meet is set to start at 6 p.m. in the Stile Athletics Field House.
