MUNCIE, IN – The University at Buffalo men's basketball team dropped its second straight Mid-American Conference game on Tuesday night as the Bulls lost at Ball State, 88-68.
The Cardinals shot just under 56% from the floor in the first half, scoring 48 points over the first 20 minutes, the highest for a UB opponent this season. From there, Ball State went on a 7-0 run and never trailed again. The Cardinals built their lead up to as many as 15 in the first half before taking a 48-34 lead into the break.
BSU used a 9-2 run to open the second half, extending its lead to 21, its largest of the game until the closing moments. The Bulls tried to make a run in the second half, but never got any closer than 13, which occurred with 5:22 left. The Cardinals would wind up leading by 23 with just over a minute left before Buffalo scored the final three points.
