Bulls Host Kent State in Key MAC Dual on Saturday

BUFFALO, NY – The University at Buffalo wrestling team will host Kent State in a key Mid-American Conference dual at Alumni Arena on Saturday afternoon. The Bulls enter the dual winners of five of their last six.
Buffalo (7-7, 3-3 MAC) had won five straight before dropping a 17-16 decision at Clarion last Friday. Buffalo has featured a young lineup that continues to improve and gains valuable experience. In their last dual, the Bulls had freshmen or redshirt-freshmen wrestling in five of the ten weight classes.
Kent State is 5-9 overall and 1-4 in MAC duals. Both Buffalo and Kent State have a wrestler nationally ranked and they both wrestle at 133 lbs. Derek Spann (ranked 14th) vs. Tim Rooney (ranked 17th) will be a key match in the dual.
Kent State leads the all-time series, 25-10. However, the Bulls have won three straight against the Golden Flashes, including a 28-13 decision at Kent State last season.
