CAMP SPOTLIGHT: Tight Ends
8/9/2019 10:51:00 AM | Football
Tight end has been a position the Bulls have had success developing in recent years, producing three All-MAC selections over the last four seasons. UB will look to continue the trend in 2019 with a good mix of size and speed at the position.
Junior Zac Lefebvre is an experienced tight end who saw a lot of time over his first two seasons. At 6-6, Lefebvre is a big target who has 15 catches and a touchdown over his 22-game career. He has made three starts over his career and will likely be the Bulls starter when the season begins on August 29.
Sophomore Julien Bourassa has seen some game action and looks ready for a more prominent role in 2019. The biggest of the Bulls tight ends, the 6-6, 255-lb. Bourassa played in three games and had one reception for nine yards in 2018 before missing the remainder of the season with an injury. He is back heathy and will be ready to go in 2019.
Jake Molinich is listed as a tight end, but has been used primarily in blocking situations in the backfield. With a lot of youth at the position, he may see his role expanded this season.
After redshirting as a freshman last season, Cole Burniston will be in the mix at the tight end spot as well. A running back in high school, Burniston has shown off his athletic ability in camp.
At 6-6, freshman Tyler Stephens has good size and shows soft hands. He could also make an immediate impact.
Rounding out the tight end position is Wyatt Molinich. He is the younger brother of Jake Molinich and the third Molinich to come through the program in recent years.
The 2019 season kicks off on August 29 against Robert Morris at UB Stadium. For tickets contact the UB ticket office at 1-877-UB-THERE or click here.
