Buffalo Ready to Play Host to UB Invitational

BUFFALO, NY – The University at Buffalo track & field program readies for another exciting day of action, as they are slated to host their only home meet of the 2019 season, the annual University at Buffalo Invitational at UB Stadium on Saturday. Notable teams set to compete this weekend include Big-4 rivals Niagara, Canisius and St. Bonaventure, as well as cross-town school Daemen. The action is scheduled to get underway at 11:00 AM with the men's long jump and hammer throw events.
LAST TIME OUT
- The Bulls are coming off of a busy tri-meet weekend in which the team competed in the Ashland Alumni Open, the Larry Ellis Invitational hosted by Princeton, and the Rochester Spring Invite held at the University of Rochester.
- Leon Atkins continued his incredible form in the 800m race, claiming victory for the Bulls in the event at the Larry Ellis Invite, pacing himself to the win in a time of 1:49.56, a new personal-best as the junior claimed his second MAC Track & Field Athlete of the Week honors of the season.
- Freshman Molly Mccreedy's victory in the discus throw highlighted the Bulls' showing at Ashland, claiming victory with a toss of 46.58m.
- Hannah Roof (3.50mA) and Earnie Burapan (3.50mA) placed 1st and 2nd respectively in the pole vault event at the Rochester Spring Invite.
- Matthew Mercer paced himself to a new personal-best, his third in as many weeks, in the 1500m event at the Larry Ellis Invite with a time of 3:58.57.
- Riley Jones (4:52.90) and Lauren Reyda (4:53.63) placed 1st and 2nd respectively in the 100m run at the Rochester Spring Invite.
