Trio of Bulls Compete at USATF 2017 Junior Outdoor Championships

SACRAMENTO, CA – Three members of the University at Buffalo track and field team competed at the USATF 2017 Junior Outdoor Championships in Sacramento, CA over the weekend. Caleb Covell, Sam Wray and Matthew Mercer all competed against the best junior competition in the nation.
Competing in the 5,000 meters, Covell posted a personal-best time of 14:35.28 to finish sixth out of 16 competitors. He finished just nine seconds out of first.
Wray had a throw of 53.29 meters to finish ninth in the discus throw. Mercer finished 11th in the 3,000-meter steeple chase with a time of 14:35.28.
