CLEVELAND, OH – Brian Crimmins was named the Mid-American Conference Track Athlete of the Week as announced by the conference office on Tuesday morning. This honor comes after an outstanding performance at the Jim Thorpe Open hosted by Penn State on Friday, May 5.
Crimmins' performance on the track landed him in the record books for the second time this season in the 1500m. He clocked in at 3:44.94 for first place, beating the previous school record he set earlier in the season. This time currently ranks him first in the Mid-American Conference and 36th in the NCAA East.
This is the third MAC honor for the team, as Tyler Scheving and Devon Patterson were named earlier in the outdoor season.
