
Bulls Fall Just Short At Yale, 4-3

NEW HAVEN, CT – The University at Buffalo men's tennis team played its second straight Ivy League opponent on Saturday, falling just short at Yale, 4-3. For the second straight match, the Bulls took the doubles point from their opponent.
Filip Grbic and Villhelm Fridell won at first doubles, 6-4, and Hao Sheng Koay and Vidit Vaghela won at second doubles in a tiebreaker, 7-6, which clinched the point and gave the Bulls the early 1-0 lead.
In singles play, Yale won at one, three and four, while the Bulls picked up victories from Fridell at five, 7-6, 6-2, and Ethan Nittolo at six, 7-6, 6-3, which had the match all tied up at 3-3, leaving things to second singles.
Ziqi Wang from Yale won the first set over Grbic, but then he came back to win the second set 6-2, sending the match into a third set which Wang took 6-2, clinching the victory for Yale.
The Bulls will conclude their weekend with the Ivy League tomorrow when they face Brown at 12:00 pm.
