UB Women's Tennis' 2015 Season Ends in the MAC Tournament

OXFORD, OH – The University at Buffalo, State University of New York women's tennis team saw its season come to an end Friday in the 2015 Mid-American Conference Tournament hosted by Miami (OH). The sixth-seeded Bulls (7-11) fell to third-seeded Ball State (16-5), 4-0, in the quarterfinals.
The Cardinals snapped a 1-1 deadlock to snag the doubles point edging the Bulls at first doubles. Ball State's Ashlyn Rang and Toni Ormond picked up the day's first win defeating senior Laura Fernandez and freshman Christine Haraldson, 6-0, at third doubles. UB's second duo of freshman Tanja Stojanovska and sophomore Laura Holterbosch evened the match blanking Courtney Wild and Bethany Moore, 6-2. Courtney Earnest and Rosalinda Calderon edged sophomore Margarita Kotok and junior Dayana Agasieva, 6-4, at the top spot to secure the Cardinals the point.
Moore cruised to a 6-3, 6-3 sixth-singles victory over Haraldson, before Calderon outlasted Holterbosch, 7-6 (8), 6-1, at five to take a 3-0 lead. Earnest defeated Kotok, 6-4, 6-3, at second singles to end the match. The three lingering matches were called. Stojanovska led her first-singles match, 3-6, 7-5, 1-0.
Ball State will advance to play second-seeded Western Michigan Saturday in the semifinals.
