Bulls Battle MAC-Leading Miami (OH)

BUFFALO, NY – The University at Buffalo, State University of New York women's tennis team suffered a 6-1 setback to Mid-American Conference leader, Miami (OH), Friday afternoon at Miller Tennis Center.
The RedHawks (9-6, 3-0 MAC) defeated the Bulls (5-8, 1-2 MAC) to win their seventh match in their last eight outings.
Sophomore Margarita Kotok and junior Dayana Agasieva teamed to defeat the RedHawks, 6-1, at first doubles. Freshmen Tanja Stojanovska and Christine Haraldson were narrowly defeated, 7-5, at third doubles.
Four singles matches went to three sets, but Stojanovska secured the lone UB victory. She defeated Alix Thurman, 7-5, 3-6, 6-2, at first singles. At the second position, Kotok dropped a 6-2, 2-6, 6-3 decision to Andrea Badileanu. Christine Guerrazzi topped senior Laura Fernandez, 6-4, 4-6, 6-3 at third singles, while sophomore Laura Holterbosch fell to Hannah Shteyn at the fifth spot, 2-6, 6-2, 6-1.
The Bulls will host Bowling Green Sunday at 1 pm.
