
Women's Basketball Hits the Road to Play UMass on Saturday

BUFFALO, NY – The University at Buffalo, the State University of New York women's basketball team will hit the road for the first time this season when they play at Massachusetts on Saturday afternoon. Following wins over LIU Brooklyn and Canisius, the Bulls are 2-0 and are looking to start the season 3-0 for the first time since 2000-01.
The Bulls are coming off a 54-40 win over Canisius on Tuesday night. UB was led by Stephanie Reid who had 12 points, seven rebounds, six assists and three steals in the game. Katherine Ups added 10 points and seven rebounds – both career highs.
The Bulls have been relying on their defense. UB leads the MAC and ranks sixth in the nation in scoring defense, allowing only 39 points per game. It will be the Bulls' toughest test to date as UMass is averaging nearly 70 points per game. The Minutewomen are 1-1 on the season with a win over Holy Cross and a close loss to Harvard.
Tipoff is slated for 5 pm at UMass' Mullins Center.
