BUFFALO, NY – Two-time Olympic gold medalist Crystl Bustos will headline the upcoming University at Buffalo Elite Softball Camp, which is set for the end of August. Bustos, one the greatest hitters in USA softball history, holds the world record for home runs hit in the Olympics. Bustos was named the 2008 USA Softball Player of the Year.
"It is awesome to have my former Team USA teammate come to Buffalo," said head UB softball coach Trena Peel. "She brings tremendous knowledge of the game and she is hands down the greatest offensive player to play the game. I know the campers will enjoy her enthusiasm as well as learn a lot during the weekend."
The elite softball camp will be held on Saturday, August 30 from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm and on Sunday, August 31 from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm. The camp is for those ages 13-21 and will focus on hitting for power, bat control, slapping control, bunting skills, cage work, speed & agility, as well as strength & conditioning.
