
Bulls Sweep Past Duquesne, 7-0

BUFFALO, NY - The University at Buffalo women's tennis team dominated its competition on Saturday afternoon, sweeping Duquesne, 7-0. The Bulls breezed through doubles and won all six singles matches in straight sets to improve to 3-1 on the year.
In doubles, the senior duo of Miranda Podlas and Tanvi Shah won at first doubles easily, 6-2. Also picking up a 6-2 victory at second doubles was Anamaria Candanoza and Laura Fernandez. The Bulls put their two freshman together at third doubles as Margarita Kotok and Laura Holterbosch won 6-1.
In singles, the Bulls took all six matches comfortably, beginning with a 6-2, 6-0 victory for Candanoza at fourth singles. Shah won next at first singles, followed by Podlas and Kotok winning at second and third singles, respectively. Senior Marta Stoyanova then won her match 6-3, 6-2 at sixth singles, while Fernandez completed the sweep with a 7-6 (4), 6-3 win at fifth singles.
The Bulls return to action tomrrow at 11:00 am when they host Niagara at Miller Tennis Center.
