
Wrestling Drops Road Dual At #9 Edinboro, 41-3

EDINBORO, PA - The University at Buffalo wrestling team (2-13, 0-5 MAC) suffered a road loss at the hands of #9 Edinboro University (8-3) on Saturday night by the score of 41-3. The loss was the sixth straight defeat for the Bulls, three of those defeats were against nationally ranked opponents.
The lone victory for the Bulls on Saturday night came from Tony Lock at 184-pounds. Lock defeated Nick Mitchell by the score of 5-3 for his second straight dual victory. With the win, Lock ranks second on the Bulls with 15 victories.
At 125-pounds, Max Soria put in a good fight for the Bulls as he was downed in a tight contest by the score of 7-5 against #16 Kory Mines. Tyler Rill and Rrok Ndokaj both put in good matches against their opponents, as they both fell by two points in close decisions.
At 141-pounds, Nick Flannery was not able to stay hot for the Bulls following two wins over nationally ranked opponents. Flannery was pinned by #1 Mitchell Port at 3:37. With the win, Port improved to 21-0 on the season.
All six nationally ranked grapplers for the Fighting Scots won their matches against the Bulls on Saturday with two winning by technical fall and two winning by fall.
The Bulls will return to the mat on Friday, February 7 at 7:30 pm as they travel to nationally ranked and conference opponent, Missouri.
