
Softball Announces 2015 Schedule

BUFFALO, NY - Second-year head softball coach Trena Peel announced her schedule for the upcoming 2015 season Tuesday afternoon. The defending MAC East Champions will begin the year at the Troy Chick-Fil-A Invite on Friday, Feb. 6.
Due to the weather in the North during the early part of the season, the Bulls will play their first 28 games away from home until late March. UB will open the season in Troy, Alabama where it will play its first five games at the Troy Chick-Fil-A Invite. The season begins on Feb. 6 with games against Western Kentucky and Alabama State. Also at the opening weekend is North Florida and the host, Troy.
UB will move on to Arlington, TX during the second week for the Maverick Invitational and then they will close out February in Macon, GA at the Mercer Tournament. Following a week off from games, UB will embark on a cross-country adventure during Spring Break, which will see the Bulls play 12 games in the state of California over an eight day period.
The Bulls will then return back to New York where it will face SUNY rival Binghamton on the road on Wednesday, March 25 before UB comes back to Western New York for its home opener on Saturday, March 28 against Kent State. Last season, the Bulls ended the year against the Golden Flashes, sweeping Kent State en route to the MAC East Division title.
After the opening conference weekend, the Bulls will head to Miami (OH) and Ball State before returning home to open an eight-game homestand that will include two-game series with Detroit, Ohio, Akron, and Canisius. The Bulls will then play two straight conference weekends on the road before closing out the regular season at Nan Harvey Field during the weekend of May 1 with a doubleheader against Northern Illinois and single games on Saturday and Sunday against Western Michigan.
The 2015 Mid-American Conference Tournament will again be held at Firestone Stadium in Akron, OH from May 6-10. Last season, the Bulls made their first ever appearance in the MAC Championship game.
