BUFFALO, NY – University at Buffalo hurdler Ryan Billian has been selected as the Mid-American Conference's Men's Track Athlete of the Week. The league announced from its Cleveland headquarters today.
At the Toledo Collegiate Challenge on March 30, Billian won the men's 110-meter in 14.30 seconds. He won the event by .10 seconds over Eastern Michigan's Darrell Butler.
Billian set the MAC's fastest 110-meter hurdles time at the season-opening Wake Forest Invitational on March 16 when he clocked 14.24 seconds.
"I feel that Ryan Billian will be one of our top freshman student-athletes that will be competing at the Outdoor MAC Championships," said men's head coach Perry Jenkins.
Billian joins UB teammates Miles Lewis, Jacob Sunday and Emma Siuciak as MAC outdoor athletes of the week this season. Lewis, Sunday and Siuciak were honored for their performances following the Wake Forest meet.
The Bulls will send 20 of their top athletes, including Billian, to this weekend's Florida Relays in Gainesville.
