
Men's Tennis Suffers 4-3 Loss to Ball State

WILLIAMSVILLE, NY – The University at Buffalo men's tennis team dropped a 4-3 decision on Saturday afternoon to visiting Ball State at the Miller Tennis Center. The Bulls are now 9-8 (3-1 MAC) headed into tomorrow's regular season finale against Northern Illinois.
The Bulls scored all three of their wins against the Cardinals (16-7, 5-0) in singles play, including a pair of three-set victories. Both Vusa Hove, at number one, and Damien David, at number two, each earned their 17th singles wins of the season. Hove, playing at number one earned a win when his Ball State opponent, Ray Leonard, retired. Hove led the third set, 2-1, after the pair split tiebreakers in the opening two sets. David rolled to a 7-5, 6-2 win over Cliff Morrison in the number two match. for his seventh consecutive singles win and stayed unbeaten against Mid-American Conference opponents at 4-0. Also taking a three-set win was Pablo Alvarez, in the number four match, as he downed Patrick Elliott 6-1, 5-7, 7-5.
UB finishes the regular season on Sunday at 10:00 am against Northern Illinois (14-8, 2-2 MAC) in a contest to determine the number two seed in next weekend's MAC Championships.
