
Nia Roberts Joins The Bulls For 2013-14

BUFFALO, NY - Head coach Felisha Legette-Jack has announced that Miami, FL native Nia Roberts has signed a National Letter of Intent and will be joining the University at Buffalo women's basketball program for the upcoming 2013-14 season. She becomes the fourth member of next year's freshmen class.
Roberts averaged 11.8 points, 8.5 rebounds and 2.9 steals per game during her senior year at Norland High School. She has been a three-time All-Dade County First Team selection, and helped lead her team to the State Championships as a junior. This season, Norland advanced to the 6A State Semifinals.
Roberts is also an accomplished track and field athlete, competing in the shot put. She won an event in March over 44 other competitors at the 5th Annual Miramar Invitational with a throw of 12.85m.
"We are extremely excited to add Nia to our Bulls' family," said Legette-Jack. "She is going to help us speed up our game. She runs the floor well, has great hands and is a proven winner. Our future is bright with addition of Nia to a great 2013 signing class."
The class already includes Alexus Malone, Joanna Smith and Camera Miley, who each just completed fantastic senior seasons. Miley was selected to play in the NYC Mayor's Cup Basketball All-Star game as one of the top girl's basketball public school players in New York City.
In Mississippi, Smith and Malone both led their team's to success led by Smith's Southaven squad which finished the year ranked fourth in all of Mississippi and made it to the 6A State Finals where they lost by two in four overtimes. Malone''s Oxford team was also ranked in the top 50 in the state as she finished the year averaging 19.6 points and 9.7 rebounds per game. Malone and Smith were both selected to play in the annual Alabama-MIssissippi Girls All-Star Game.
