Bulls Win Nine Events at Bucknell Bison Outdoor Classic

LEWISBURG, PA – The University at Buffalo men's and women's track and field teams won a combined nine events and placed second in five as the Bucknell Bison Outdoor Classic concluded on Sunday. There was no team scoring at the meet.
The UB women took seven events while the men won a pair of events. The Bulls swept the 4x100-meter relay races. The women's foursome of Jamiee McClary, Malayah White, Camaria Long and Crystal Graham set the Bucknell facility record with a 45.88 second clocking. The UB men posted a season-best time of 41.32 seconds as the team of Darien Johnson, Ryan Billian, Micah Oliver and Miles Lewis took the timed final.
Men's high jumper Chris Reape extended his school record in winning his event. Reape won the high jump at 6-11 (2.11m), adding three-quarters of an inch to the record he set at the Wake Forest Open earlier this season. Danielle Anderson set a season-best of 5-1.25 (1.56m) to tie for third in the women's high jump.
Shante' White won the women's hammer throw at 190-2 (57.96m) as the Bulls posted three of the top four finishers. Erin Miller finished third at 182-1 (55.51m) and Kristy Woods turned in a season-best throw of 177-1 (53.97m), an increase of more than three feet. White also placed second in the women's discus with a season-best throw of 155-2 (47.29m) with freshman Taylor Woods taking fifth at 136-6 (41.61m). Former UB All-American Becky O'Brien won the women's discus at 162-0 (49.37m). Evan Palmer finished third in the men's hammer throw at 194-5 (59.25m) and men's discus at 163-9 (49.92m). In the women's shot put, O'Brien won the event at 53-5 (16.28m) with three Bulls, Rachel Roberts (49-7, 15-11m), Kristy Woods (49-6.25, 15.09m) and Miller (47-10, 14.58m) taking the next three spots.
Jenna Van Dusen finished second in the women's pole vault at 12-8.25 (3.87m) adding more than 20 inches to her previous season-best height. Kelly Truppo finished third at 11-8.50 (3.57m).
The UB women also had five victories on the track on Sunday. Long won the 100-meters in 12.13 seconds, the fastest time by a UB woman this season. Malayah White finished second in 12.18 seconds. Long also won the 200-meters in 24.28, another season-best. Meghan Manley took the women's 800-meters in 2:09.80. UB also swept the women's hurdles events. Kristina Arcury claimed the 100-meter hurdles in a season-best 14.48 seconds while Donna Jeanty won the 400-meter hurdles in a season-best 1:02.10 with Regine Lazard also posting a season-best with her third-place finish of 1:02.71. The 4x400-meter relay team of Lazard, Jeanty, Gina Carnovale and Uwa Omorogbe finished third in 3:53.62.
For the UB men, Billian finished second in the men's 100-meters in 10.78 seconds while Johnson finished fourth in a season-best 10.93 seconds. Brian Crimmins set a season-best of 1:52.54 with his third-place finish in the men's 800-meters. Hurdlers Jacob Wray and Will Cole also posted season-best times in their races. Wray placed third in the men's 110-meter hurdles in 13.67 seconds and Cole took third in the 400-meter hurdles in 52.70 seconds. Don McCann finished third and Tomarris Bell placed fifth in the men's long jump as both achieved season-best marks. McCann cleared 22-8.50 (6.92m) while Bell leaped 22-2.25 (6.76m).
The Bulls are at the Upstate Challenge in Binghamton next Saturday.
