
UB Women's Basketball Releases 2012-13 Schedule

BUFFALO, NY – First-year head coach Felisha Legette-Jack has announced her innaugural schedule, beginning with 13 non-conference games to kick off the year.
The Bulls will begin the season on the road as they open on Nov. 9 at Big 4 Rival, Canisius. UB will have its home opener on Tuesday, Nov. 13 when it hosts Youngstown State. Following that, Buffalo will play four straight games away from Alumni Arena, beginning Nov. 16 at Oakland. The Bulls will then head to Wright State on Nov. 18 and then on to Dayton, OH for Thanksgiving Weekend. Buffalo will play Dayton on Nov. 23 and Eastern Illinois on Nov. 24. UB then returns home to wrap up November when it hosts Duquesne on Nov. 28. That game will begins a stretch of five of six games at home through December.
December will open up with Buffalo at Bucknell on Dec. 1, but it will be the last time the Bulls are on the road in 2012. UB will host St. Bonaventure (Dec. 5), Binghamton (Dec. 8), Niagara (Dec. 21) and Pittsburgh (Dec. 29) taking them through the end of the month. Buffalo rounds out non-conference play on Jan. 5 at Cornell.
"We are excited for the challenges that our non-conference schedule brings," said Legette-Jack. "I believe that the level of competition that we face will help prepare us to compete at a high level when the MAC portion of our schedule arrives in January. I am excited to start our new journy and we are eager and ready to go."
UB will begin league play at home against Northern Illinois on Jan. 10 and will remain home to face Ohio on Jan. 13. The Bulls will play each member of the East Division twice, both at home and on the road. In the West Division they will host Northern Illinois (Jan. 10), Ball State (Jan. 23) and Western Michigan (Jan. 26), while traveling Toledo (Jan. 19), Central Michigan (Feb.10) and Eastern Michigan (Feb. 16).
The Bulls will close out their regular season schedule by hosting Akron on March 9. The 2013 Mid-American Conference Tournament will be the second with the new seeding format. Opening round games will be on Saturday, March 9 at campus sites with second round contests in Cleveland starting on March 13. Both the men and the women will play two games each day at the Quicken Loans Arena leading up to the Finals on March 16.
The Bulls will host Gannon in an exhibtion game on November 3 at 5:00 pm.
