BUFFALO, NY – Following a six-game set where she batted .500, Buffalo freshman Alexis Curtiss has been named the MAC East Player of the Week, the conference office announced on Tuesday morning. The award is the first for Curtiss and the first by a UB player this season.
Curtiss had arguably the best week of her young career as she went 11-for-22 from the plate including a pair of four-hit games. Curtiss had one against Ohio State and another against Toledo. The four hits are tied for the school record for hits in a game, which has now been done 14 times, the last two by Curtiss. She finished with an outstanding slugging percentage of .818 and ultimately finished with four doubles and a home run.
Curtiss leads the team with a .351 batting average and also has team highs in hits, doubles, home runs and runs batted in. She is currently ninth in the MAC in batting average and fourth in the conference games only at .440.
Curtiss and the Bulls are back in action tomorrow afternoon when they head to Canisius for a doubleheader beginning at 3pm.
